Traditional rākau and botanical remedies
Every soothing balm is handcrafted with deep respect for traditional Māori Rongoā. Discover the native plants and gentle botanical infusions we harvest with karakia and tikanga to restore skin wellness and ease physical tension.

Kawakawa (Piper excelsum)
A foundational native rākau in Rongoā Māori, Kawakawa has been cherished for generations to soothe irritated skin. Rich in naturally calming properties, infused leaves form the heart of our restorative balms, gently calming eczema, dry patches, insect bites, minor cuts, and rashes while supporting natural skin barrier repair.

Tūpākihi
Tūpākihi (also known as Coriaria arborea) is a native New Zealand shrub traditionally used by Māori for its powerful medicinal properties. Its leaves and bark were commonly used in mirimiri (healing massage) to support joint, muscle, and nerve health. Tūpākihi is known for its warming, penetrating effects that help ease tension, stiffness, and pain. However, the plant is also toxic if ingested, especially its berries and seeds, and must be prepared with expert knowledge.

Mānuka
Mānuka (Leptospermum scoparium) is considered the ultimate "nurse tree" and a cornerstone taonga (treasure) in Rongoā Māori. While the modern world heavily associates it with Manuka honey, traditional Māori practitioners have utilized every single part of this resilient plant—the bark, leaves, seeds, sap, and even the ash—for centuries to treat internal and external ailments.

Kānuka
Kānuka (Kunzea ericoides) is widely used in traditional medicine, particularly for its strong anti-inflammatory, antifungal, and soothing properties. Kānuka oil is highly prized in modern Rongoā balms for its ability to calm severe eczema, psoriasis, and deep-tissue inflammation.

Calendula and chamomile olive oil infusions
To complement our native rākau, we slowly infuse pure olive oil with delicate calendula and chamomile flowers. This nurturing botanical base carries active herbal benefits deep into the skin, replenishing essential moisture and providing gentle, everyday nourishment for sensitive or irritated skin.
